Residential Carbon Backwash Filters
Residential Carbon Backwash Filters clean themselves by rinsing contaminants it has filtered from water. Activated carbon (AC) filtration is most effective in removing chemicals that affect taste, odor, and color. When the filter medium becomes saturated, this system initiates a backwash that pushes water backward through the filter. This process washes away the contaminants, and prepares the medium bed for the next filtration cycle. A carbon backwash filter is not the same as a water softener.
