I have used other tannin removal media, but none of them work near as well as Tanex. It is pricey but the clear water is worth it. I highly recommend this product.

normally it takes me several minutes with the plastic wrench that was provided by the manufacturer. with this wrench, it was loose in seconds. it was definitely the right upgrade for this job and now i won't procrastinate on getting the filters changed regularly.
