I ordered this filter to replace the initial one which the same kind. So far the original one is doing what it is intended to do after almost a year in use now. I anticipate that the replacement will be of the same quality when the time comes to replace the original.

normally it takes me several minutes with the plastic wrench that was provided by the manufacturer. with this wrench, it was loose in seconds. it was definitely the right upgrade for this job and now i won't procrastinate on getting the filters changed regularly.
I broke the handle on a plastic wrench trying to open the water filter at my parents house (well, never mind that I was turning it the wrong way). When I received this one (and had it going the right direction) the filter opened with just minimal effort, note, this had not been opened for at least 2 years). This is pretty sturdy and should last a lifetime!
